Variety Show - 7:00 p.m. at the VHS Auditorium- "Jukebox Memories" - The Verdigre Community Chorus presents their 22nd annual Variety Show, "Jukebox Memories", at the school gymnasium featuring music from the '50's and '60's. Tickets available at the door. Expect to enjoy the memories while listening to popular songs of yesteryear. Bus trips are an added feature this year. A Creighton-Bloomfield bus trip will be Thursday, June 11. For $22, this includes a traditional Czech meal to be served at the historic Commercial Hotel and reserved front-row seating for the performance. A western bus on Friday, June 12, will make stops in Stuart, Atkinson, O'Neill and Orchard which includes a traditional Czech meal, reserved seating for the performance and attendance at the Coronation Ball. Pool Party - Free swimming at the pool at Wildwood Acres from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Prizes will be given away throughout the party. Music and entertainment by KBRX.

Doc Walstrom Memorial Turtle Race - 4:00 p.m. at Chalupnik Park. Registration begins at 3:00 p.m. Only Box and Painted turtles will be raced. Award given for the largest turtle.

Variety Show - The Verdigre Community Chorus will repeat its Thursday performance at 7:00 p.m. in the school auditorium. (See Thursdays schedule for details.)

Kolach Royalty Ball - The Royalty Ball will be at the ZCBJ Hall from 8:00 p.m. -12:00 a.m. with the Dave Salmons Polka Variety Band providing polkas, waltzes, country and modern music. Coronation will be followed by the cash drawings. Admission: $5.00.

Street Dance - The first street dance during Kolach Days will feature Capital Nine performing on Main Street from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Admission: $5.00. NO COOLERS!!

10K Run - 5K Run/Walk - at 8:00 a.m. at Fire Hall. No pre-registration necessary. Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. Registration fee is $15 - includes 2009 t-shirt. Contact Mitch Mastalir at 402-841-7395 for information. Sponsored by the Verdigre Booster Club & Verdigre Rescue Squad.

Mud Volleyball Tournament - south of Schreier's Lumber Co. starting at 9:30 a.m. Entry fee: $60.00 per team. Preregister and prepay by June 8th. Limited to 24 teams. Contact Pat Svec at 668-2236.

Kiddie Parade - at 11:00 a.m. at Alpine Village. Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. or pre-register by calling Phyllis Douglas at 402-668-2209. No entry fee. Cash prizes. Theme: "Under the Sea". "Leroy Hollmann" entertains at 10 a.m. Available (10:00 a.m. to Noon): lunchstand, ice cream, popcorn, and snow cones. VHS Drill Team to perform after parade.

Poker Run - sponsored by the American Legion. Bikes and old cars. 11:00 a.m. registration, 12:00 p.m. start. Point system for all hands; $20 per hand. Payback 50%. Contact Mike Maslonka for details, 402-668-2635.

Duck Races - Starting at 1:00 p.m. - Sponsored by Verdigre Organized Women (V.O.W.). Be sure to get your ducks at Country Creations.

VHS Alumni Banquet - Registration and social hour from 4:00-6:00 at the ZCBJ Hall. Tour the school from 2:00-4:00 p.m. The banquet begins at 6:30 at the ZCBJ Hall. The 2009 Kolach Royalty and former King and Queens will be introduced during the program.

Free Dance - at the ZCBJ Hall starts at 8:30 p.m. Music by the Tyndall Accordion Club.

Youth Dance - From 9 p.m. to Midnight. Music by Soundz Unlimited. Verdigre Public School Gymnasium. FREE ADMISSION!

Street Dance - from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Music by "Thudwinker". Admission: $5.00. NO COOLERS!!

Annual Polka Mass - The Polka mass will be at 9:30 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. All faiths welcome.

VHS Drill Team - will entertain at 1:00 p.m. in front of the Main Street Grandstand.

Grand Parade - The annual Grand Parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. Entries taken until that time. For information, contact Jim Sokol at 402-668-2892. Handicap parking available on north Main Street.

Kolach Eating Contest - on Main Street immediately following the parade. No entry fee. Sponsored by Creighton Area Health Services.

Polka Dance Contest - at 5:00 p.m at the ZCBJ Hall. Children and adults of all ages eligible. No registration fee. Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in all age divisions. Music by "Just Because."

Antique Tractor Ride - Bring your favorite tractor for a scenic ride of approximately 15 miles. Depart from the football field following the parade. For information, call Merlyn Walton at 402-668-2813 or Dan Rohrer at 402-841-1360.
